I offer a professional, committed Counselling and Psychotherapy service that aims to support your needs and difficulties.
I work with Adults, Children and Young People mainly within Person Centred Counselling and integrate other approaches such as Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Mindfulness, and Trauma Informed Practice that are all appropriate to help you facilitate change.
I offer Coaching for individuals of all ages who have specific areas in which they may require additional support.
Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy provides confidential emotional support and an opportunity to talk freely by exploring the thoughts and emotions surrounding your difficulties. Allowing you to find different perspectives through self awareness by building a relationship with yourself to reconnect with your value and trust in self. This will help regulate your emotions to harness your confidence to make the changes and meet the needs and wants that you wish to feel and see in your life.
I can offer you Person Centred Counselling by itself or integrate other approaches and methods that best meet the needs you require.
Counselling and Psychotherapy offers different things to every Child and Young Person. I aim to build a trusting relationship by respecting the privacy of the Young Person attending Counselling.
I am here to listen and understand and see things from their perspective by always putting them first. I can help the Young Person navigate their thoughts and emotions to help them clarify their difficulties so they can understand themselves better to make their own choices to facilitate personal growth and self awareness.
EFT (Tapping) is an alternative therapy treatment used to help manage emotions and unhelpful thought patterns, emotional distress and physical pain.
EFT can be helpful for most mental health difficulties including PTSD and Trauma and beneficial for reducing Fear, Stress, Anxiety and Depression. EFT uses the fingertips together with words to stimulate energy points in the body from the idea that the cause of negative emotions can be a disruption in the body’s energy system.
Research shows that EFT calms the Amygdala in the brain and can regulate our nervous system.
I can offer EFT on its own or integrate it into the Counselling sessions.
Coaching can be helpful for clients who have particular areas of their life in which they want to better understand and change.
I aim to develop a trusting relationship to support and help you understand and develop new ways of thinking and skills that will allow choices that you can then act on to obtain your personal goals and potential.
Coaching can be helpful when you feel stuck by challenging any negative thought patterns that are holding you back from moving forward.
I have a particular interest in helping individuals with building confidence within themselves and in relationships with others and for helping clients manage long-term illnesses, in particular Long Covid.
I can offer Coaching on its own or integrate it into the Counselling sessions.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Therapy (MBSR) can be effective for all types of difficulties especially for reducing Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Pain.
Mindfulness allows you to cultivate a greater awareness of the present moment so you may be better able to separate yourself from negative thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations that you may be experiencing with an attitude of acceptance before they become too overwhelming.
I aim to help you understand how Mindfulness can benefit your day to day living. Building a relationship with yourself though the mind body connection can allow you to focus on being in the present moment by listening to the body so as you can learn how to live more from a a place of calm within your mind.
I can offer Mindfulness (MBSR) by integrating it into the Counselling sessions.
Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) is a structured method of effectively reducing traumatic stress from emotionally and/or physically painful past life events. It aims to eliminate the negative effects of past traumas or PTSD.
When something happens to you that is emotionally or physically painful you either in the first case, confront it fully at the time and experience the pain that occurred which allows you an understanding that will then become a past incident. In the second case if you don't experience or feel the pain of the incident at the time and you avoid or suppress it, then it will continue to exist and exert negative effects on your life as it continues to resurface.
TIR involves confronting past traumas in a completely safe environment, free of distractions, judgements and interpretations, resulting in a positive outcome as if the trauma was confronted at the time it occurred.
I offer this service as a separate therapeutic service with the initial consultation allowing us to understand what you are experiencing and how TIR works. Each session will be 1.5 hours in duration.
All the above Counselling and Psychotherapy appointments are 50-60 minutes long and can be weekly, fortnightly or at a frequency that suits you best. My appointments are offered online, via Zoom or by Telephone only at this time.
All individual online Counselling Adult, Children, and Young Person appointments are £50.
All individual online Traumatic Incident Reduction appointments are £75 for 1.5 hours.
